The Parable of the Soils

Seeds are sown into four types of soils - rocky ground, shallow soil, weeds, and good soil. The seeds are the words of God. The types of soil are the state of the receiver's heart - rocky ground is unreceiving; shallow soil is quick to grow, but dies quickly when hardships come; weeds are distracted by the anxieties of their life and are quickly choked; good soil is the receiving heart that has been changed by God and is ready to grow strong in the Lord.
