God Interposed an Oath to Encourage Hope

The apostles, and Paul by this epistle to the Hebrews, would have the saints to be diligent to hope in Christ to the end. To encourage a strong hope in the promises of God He sware an oath by Himself. As a result their hope will become sure and steadfast, and this in turn will give stability to their lives as they suffer the various trials.
