Things I Hate About Evangelism

Rebecca Pippert once wrote that Christians and non-Christians share something in common: they are both uncomfortable with evangelism. As born again Christians we all want to see sinners come to faith in Christ and be baptized, and we know that will never happen apart from them hearing the gospel. And yet, if we are honest, there is something inside of us that feels awkward about sharing the gospel with the lost, would we even dare to say that in one sense, we hate evangelism? In this Bible study conducted at one of our monthly Agape Feasts we examine this problem head on, for it is helpful to remember that evangelism is resisted by three powerful enemies: the devil, the world, and our own flesh. Perhaps recognizing and acknowledging these things is a major step in helping us to labor with consistent fervor in the glorious work of leading souls to Jesus Christ!
