Why does eschatology matter?

Eschatology is the study of future events. Paul's discussion of Jew and Gentile salvation leans heavily on eschatology, but Paul's purpose is not a study of eschatology. Rather, he shows why it matters so much in his conclusions about the salvation of Jews and Gentiles.
