In Luke 6:1–5, rather than defend the disciples' actions as lawful (which they were), Jesus draws attention instead to the reason for the disciples' eating the grain: they were with Him. He who is Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath! Sabbath is a day consecrated to Jesus!
