He Was Taken Up

As both the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds affirm, the ascension of Christ is not an afterthought but is essential to Christ's redemptive work. Although Jesus ascended, he is still at work in the world by his Spirit through his people. When Christ returned to the Father, he was enthroned as King and Ruler over all. He who went up is also he who is coming back to visibly establish his kingdom of righteousness. Now we have a sympathetic High Priest in heaven whom we can always approach in every time of need. Take heart, discouraged Christian, Christ is ascended, is interceding for you, and is returning for you and all God's people.
