Sin and God's Grand Design

Suffering evil at the hands of other people is a very real problem in our world. We have a difficult time understanding why we suffer when God is good and God is sovereign.

Part of our problem - and something that severely limits our perspective - is that we assume suffering is pointless and absurd. We assume there can be no good reason why we would be treated unkindly or unjustly by others and have to suffer consequences of others' sin.

But these few verses of Genesis 45 put that kind of suffering in eternal perspective. Suffering is never absurd because God always has an overriding purpose of redemption that He is accomplishing, even when we suffer.
