Covetousness and Contement

Covetousness is a love of money to the point of drawing away from Christ. A christian cannot serve God and money. Matthew Henry asks the question 'What sins can a man resist when he has the love of money?' The cheif sin is not riches but the over valuing of it. How can one repent of this sin? One can repent of this sin by being content with what the Lord has given them. The foundation of contement is found in the presence of God and in His providence. Let us rest in this foundation as we pursue sanctification in Christ.
