No Condemnation in Christ

In chapter 7, the Apostle Paul addresses his personal struggle with indwelling sin as Christian. We desire to serve God with our minds, but the sinful nature seeks to submit to the law of sin and death. “Who will save me from this body of death?” exclaims Paul. “Thanks be to God—through Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is the context of Romans 8.1-4. In Christ, there is no condemnation (v. 1). In Christ, we are set free (v. 2). In Christ, God condemns sin (v. 3). And, in Christ, the righteous requirements of the law are fully met in us (v. 4).
