Be Heavenly Minded

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4)

In light of the worldly philosophies, legalism, and pagan practices, being promoted by some false teachers in Colossae, it is important to realize that the Gospel, with its focus on the completed work of Christ is the only hope for eternity, as well as in every day life.
The fact that many Believers have an earthly focus, rather than a heavenly one, shows how shockingly far modern Christianity has fallen from the Grace on which she has stood.
The influence of those in Colossae are alive and well today! It;s time for Christians to “...look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh! (Luke 21:28)”
