A Father's Rejoicings

Our Pastor Emeritus reminds us that fathers rejoice when their children turn out to be wise. Jesse, father of David who became king, only lived to see the early years of his youngest son's "behaving himself wisely." But Jesse surely rejoiced in David's demonstrated discernment and discretion. Dr. Ben Carson and Senator Tim Scott are living proof that neither environment nor I.Q. determine wisdom.
