Christ our Champion

Goliath was the champion of the Philistines.
David, the champion of Israel, defeated him.
Christ is the champion of His people, having defeated Satan for us. Satan bruised His heel, but Christ crushed his head in victory. So Satan may bruise the heel of Christ's people, but in Christ, we have crushed the head of the serpent.
