Contentment and Fearlessness

Covetousness is tied to man's desire to be his own sovereign and exalt his throne above God's throne, which is idolatry. God calls us to be contented with what we have, which is the best remedy for our sovereign aspirations. Contentment brings our feelings, desires and expectations into line with God's sovereign purposes for us. Also, we are not to fear because there is nothing that people can do to us that doesn't have to first be cleared before the throne of heaven.
