A Fishing Expedition

John wrote chapter 21 as the prologue of his Gospel.
The opening scene is a reinactment of the incident recorded in Luke 5. It demonstrates the difference in Jesus' earthly ministry with His post-resurrection ministry.
It illustrates two biblical laws: (1) Jesus' promise never to leave or forsake His own; (2) the fact that "without me [Jesus] you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
