Carry Over

208

Like Israel under cruel bondage in Egypt…delivered from all possibility of condemnation and death by the blood on the door of each home and from all possibility of returning to bondage in Egypt by the annihilation judgment upon that bondage in the drowning death of the entire system and its power base of enforcement …the entire Egyptian Army. Even though these great miracles and powerful acts were personally witnessed by each one, though each one individually and all of them collectively were permanently and physically removed from slavery in Egypt…they remained slaves psychologically. Only knowing and seeing themselves as they were, as they used to be, as slaves longing to be free but powerless to gain that freedom. And now having been freed they need only believe it in order to begin experiencing and enjoying their new found freedom. Information with out application is useless. Like bags of cement in a warehouse unless combined with water are of no use in building. So too the message of God's Word regarding who we are vs. who we were which for us is based upon a far more wondrous and spectacular event than the parting of the Red Sea; the Death, Burial and Resurrection of God in the Flesh that made sons out of slaves.
Until or unless we mix faith with the good news and take hold of the more sure Word we will not be benefited by it. Though indeed it is true of you, it will never seem true to you.
Until you believe you are a son and as long as you think you're a slave [though you are not] you will never enjoy the freedom and privileges of son-ship. Rather you will miss it…and that you should be afraid of doing!
