Righteousness Based On Law vs. Righteousness Based On Faith
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes (4b)
Righteousness based upon law (5)
The person who does the commandments shall live by them (10:5b)
If we could keep them, we would live by them
OT roots: Leviticus 18:5
But, we can’t keep them (3:10b)
Righteousness based upon faith (6-13)
The word of faith is near them (10:6-8a)
OT roots: Deut 30:12-14 (10:6-8a)
They must confess and be saved (10:9-10)
They must believe and be justified (10:9-11)
They must call upon the name of the Lord (10:12-13)
Applications
We cannot merit God’s approval with our good works.

Live a non-Pharisaical, grace-filled life of faith!
