Epaphroditus Phil 2

93 ( 44 | 49 )

Epaphroditus was quiet possibly a Greek Gentile.
His name means: Belonging to or favorite of Aphrodite. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love and of gamblers.

So it appears that Epaphroditus who was a resident of Philippi had been set free from dead Paganism to serve the true living God. He must have been a trusted member of the Church at Philippi for them to send him to Paul.

We know that when Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians that he was a prisoner in Rome.

The Philippians had heard about Paul's Imprisonment and had sent Epaphroditus with some material help from Philippi to Rome.

Epaphroditus also took Paul's letter from Rome back to the Philippian Christians in Macedonia.

Can I ask you? Have you been delivered from the Paganism of this world? We are now living in a pretty Pagan society in Australia. The gods of this world are trapping people in their lusts and their materialism and their addictions. Have you been set free by the power of the Gospel?

If you have been set free from the power of the Gospel then what percentage of your time is used in the service of Jesus Christ and the service of others?

Epaphroditus was a true servant of Jesus.
