1039 Beholding God's Genius

Once I heard a song about someone who was tired of being stirred without being changed. It was how we have our emotions stirred temporarily, like stirring water without adding anything to it. The life of a believer is much the same, stirred on Sunday only to slow down by Saturday. God gives us a hint about a guaranteed change that He will make in us as we recognize His glory. A little like someone admiring a stunning work of art that excites their emotions and turns to a bystander to comment, then finds that the person is the artist. All the excitement shifts to the artist, and from then on they see all that artists work differently (see 2Cor. 3:18).
