Pastoral Visit May 6, 2020

79 ( 64 | 15 )

Here's a verse on which we can meditate this week, Joshua 1:9. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

It probably came as no surprise, though certainly a disappointment, to hear that our schools will be closed for the remainder of this school year. I suspect a number of parents had to take a deep breath and determine to redouble their efforts at educating at home. This was probably true of students and teachers as well.
This decision on the part of our state leaders reminds us that we need to redouble our courage and commitment in other areas as well, including work and church.

We look forward to resuming in-person church services, but targeting a date is still too unclear. So, let's continue to join together on Sundays at 10:30am through livestreaming. Attending these livestream services is our best approach for maintaining our church's unity and spiritual vitality for the moment. Thanks for your commitment! https://pittsfordcc.org/sunday-morning-worship-live/

Don't forget that Thursday, May 7 is the National Day of Prayer. Our Deacon for Prayer, Al Emmans, has arranged for 3 virtual prayer meetings—10:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. Plan to join a prayer meeting that day (links will be at www.pittsfordcc.org) and consider fasting for a meal or for the whole day.
