The Return to Jerusalem

We consider the emotional walk back to Jerusalem city from the Mt. of Olives – a dangerous and no doubt emotional trip for the eleven disciples. The upper room prayer meeting was the nucleus of the church, comprised by the eleven and several others, including wives. We especially note the quiet, unassuming presence of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the Lord’s brothers – Mary’s natural children with Joseph, born after the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus.
Their prayer concern must have been the promise of the Father. The promises of God, rather than an occasion for laziness, were the fuel for corporate prayer.
