The Promised Son

• Abraham and Sarah both had faith in God, and so they were able to conceive a son because they had faith in the promise of God.
• Isaac was not only the physical offspring of Abraham, but he was the Son of Promise, from which the chosen race proceeded.
• It is amazing that the Chosen son, promised of God, was announced to Abraham by the Son of God, Jesus.
• God's sovereign purpose is easily seen in the Old Testament - Jesus came from the Chosen seed of Abraham.
• The Jewish children after the flesh are not the children of God because of the genetic history. Instead, those who follow in the faith of Abraham are the children of God. Read Hebrews 11
