Cross Person Power of Peace

If we walked into a place where we saw people sitting together, who for thousands of years had been arch enemies, would we not want to know what it was that brought them together? The church is such a place; a shocking display of the unstoppable power of God. His power is displayed in Jesus Christ who Himself is the peace God has provided between Himself and His people. This peace is real. God is not encouraging Christian people to be united, He is stating that we are in fact one! We are actually united, regardless of the vast differences between personalities and cultures. The world tries to create unity by belling people to be nice and to tolerate each other. But then people go home and express reluctance to get too close to some other group of people. But God has actually broken down this division permanently. This is something that the world can't do--it takes the power of God. Because of Jesus, we have crossed a boundary marked, "Trespassers will be executed!"
