Monica: The Mother of St. Augustine

We always ought to pray and not lose heart Luke 18:1. Not only did Monica labor to see Augustine born into the world she labored to see him born again into the kingdom of God! She spent her life pleading with God to save her son and in the year she died, God was pleased to answer her prayer. Truly the hand that rocks the cradle is a powerful force in this world. Augustine would become one of the most important and influential of the church fathers. Monica would not let God go until He blessed her son with salvation. Parents should be encouraged to never grow weary praying for their kids no matter how old they are or how far they may be from God.
