No Other Doctrine

As he begins his letter to Timothy, Paul encourages his son in the faith to protect the church from false teachers. Some who desired to be teachers of the law, emphasized fables and genealogies rather than the gospel of Christ. The former are speculative, the latter is firm and clear. Only the gospel of Jesus Christ saves. This true doctrine of the Word is what should be emphasized in the Church of Christ.
