Prepare for War: We have an Enemy
In 1941 the fleet at Pearl Harbor was not ready for war and they should have been. There was enough chatter and enough communication from the Japanese and enough tension in the diplomatic relationship between the two countries that America should have known that they had an enemy and they should have been prepared but they weren't and the result was catastrophic. In our lives, we have an enemy and God is calling us to be prepared. In Ephesians 6, we need to zero in on this phrase in Verse 13: "take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." That phrase, "having done all," signifies a diligence, an intensity, a focus, a thoroughness, "having done all, to stand firm." To stand firm against this enemy requires a full effort.
