The Wisest People In Portadown

1. THOSE WHO REST THEIR HOPES FOR SALVATION ON THE RIGHT FOUNDATION

"...a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:" (Matt 7:24

Some rest their hopes on religion/self righteousness/good works.

But the Bible says "...repent ye, and believe the gospel..." (Mark 1:15)

We need to repent - and put our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on Calvary as our only hope of salvation.

Note - the foundations will be tested - the storm came upon the house (Matt 7:25)

2. THOSE WHO CONSIDER THEIR LATTER END AND ACT APPROPRIATELY

"O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!" (Deut 32:29)

Our lives will end one day - we don`t know when - eternity is never ending - a mark of wisdom is to give serious thought to this and act upon it.

Are you ready ? What is your relationship with the Lord ? Where will YOU spend eternity ?

3. THOSE WHO ARE PREPARED AND READY FOR THE SECOND COMING

"But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." (Matt 25:4)

The Lord Jesus Christ IS coming back

Lamps represented profession - do we merely profess (the five foolish had lamps too ! ) or do we truly possess ?

The five wise had oil in their lamps - oil speaking of the Holy Spirit given to those who are the Lord`s.

Are you wise or otherwise ?

Are you wise or foolish ?

You can know NOW from the light of God's Word.

"...the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee WISE unto salvation." (2nd Tim 3:15)
