Wesminster Confession chpt 22 Oaths, Vows, & the 3rd Commandment

An Oath is a calling upon God to judge the one speaking if he has spoken the truth. A vow is a pledge or promise made to God where we are in some way consecrated to God and His service. Oaths & vows should only be made on solemn occasions.
