The All-Satisfying Christ
Series Series in Song of Solomon
166
In the first seven verses of the Song of Solomon the Shulamite confesses her love for the king. This is one of the fullest and deepest requests of human love found anywhere in the Bible—buried under the poetry and imagery is a love that fills up the senses (all five senses are identified). It is a love that satisfies the whole person. As the King he is all-sufficient. He has everything she needs or wants. Faith in a sovereign Saviour and an all-sufficient Christ brings the enjoyment of an all-satisfying Christ.
