In these times when "easy-believism" and the prosperity gospel dominate most of the preaching people are exposed to, it is very important to understand that for a church to be a healthy church the Word of God must be faithfully and consistently preached, taught, and heard. Preaching includes speaking (proclamation, declaration) the Word of God as His herald and also refers to the content of the message preached.
