The umbilical cord of life and death.

If someone doesn't cut the umbilical cord for us, at birth, we'll eventually perish in our mothers arms. But if God doesn't cut the umbilical cord of death that connects us to the fall of man we'll perish without His mercy and grace. 

Unforgiven and unreconciled sins are the umbilical cord of death that keeps us alive and feeding on the corruption, rottenness and death of this fallen world. It's a foolishness and fallen way of thinking that validates a way of living that treasures our own concepts and perceptions on living life our way.

God found us in our own polluted blood, which was life to us, but death to Him... and He cut the naval cord that attached us to our source of lifelessness and become our Redeemer. He then separated us from what was killing us and made us alive to Him. 

Sin keeps us connected to a lifeless world and its agenda.
