They Shall Beat Their Swords into Plowshares

When we read these words, we have to keep in mind that God uses the history of Judah and Jerusalem as a picture of the N.T. Church. That is not a pretty picture. We have already seen in chapter 1 that Judah and Jerusalem were in a terrible shape, but so is also the Church of our days. Just like Judah and Jerusalem were teetering on the edge of destruction, so the Church of our days is on the edge of being overrun by the armies of those who speak in other tongues. It is only by the Grace of God that our Church is still faithful to the Word of God.
