Where are Your Easter Eggs?

802

There is no Christianity without the resurrection. According to Paul's argument in 1 Corinthians 15, those who deny the bodily resurrection have denied Christianity.

Now you may know about the resurrection and in some sense actually believe it, but to have saving faith you have to do something with your supposed belief. Paul is telling us that the resurrection is the one thing that changes everything.

Everything hinges on the resurrection. Paul is placing all his eggs in this one basket. It is not symbolic, or merely sentimental or just inspirational. It is historical, actual, and foundational.

We can choose not to believe in the resurrection but it creates questions we must answer. Do we think we can pay for our own sins or do we turn to trust in Jesus who died for our sins and rose again? Do we believe in a bloody savior and an empty tomb or do we look elsewhere?

If this one thing isn’t true all the other things about Christianity are false, but if this one thing is true all other belief systems besides Christianity are false.

The resurrection makes Christianity all or nothing.
