A Call to Attention

Our Lord has climbed this mountain with the inner circle of his disciples and has been transfigured. His appearance changes, perhaps a view of His glory is manifest before their eyes. When Peter responds in the flesh God speaks to them and declares His high opinion of Jesus. God speaks to us through His word; He speaks to us through His providence; He speaks to His people by the Holy Spirit; but here God explicitly speaks to these three disciples and calls them to attention with three simple words, "...hear ye him."
