The Testimony of the Holy Spirit

In John chapter 16 Jesus told his disciples that when the Holy Spirit came that he would testify concerning Him before the world. That testimony would come through disciples, both men and women filled with the Holy Spirit. We are called to bear witness to Jesus Christ but it must be through the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost was not an isolated historical event rather it was the fulfillment of the new covenant promises. Therefore being filled and staying filled with the person of the Holy Spirit is an absolute necessity if we are to touch the world for Christ the way the early disciples did. If we are saved it is so that we can be his witnesses to a world that is in the bondage of the devil. The testimony is this; there is salvation through only one name, the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That's our message we need to Holy Spirit in us to deliver it and we must pray for the Holy Spirit to come on our hearers to receive the message for it is the Holy Spirit that will convict people and grant them the new birth.
