The Wonder of the Church

The local church is made up of true followers of Christ and then again it is made up of those who hold empty professions as well. The local church is impure. It is permeated with sinners and sins and error. The Invisible church is not so. It is the church as it is before God in earth and in heaven; the spiritual body of Christ... drawing all its life from Him and before Christ made perfect. In Ephesians 5 as Paul speaks to husbands and wives he references before them the nature of the Churches relationship to Christ. He is not referencing the practice of the local church but the reality of the invisible church. He calls couples to live before one another in the same way that the invisible church and Christ are connected.
