Doing the Work of an Evangelist

There are distinctive doctrines to be preached to the unconverted which we find in Scripture. These are to be proclaimed with authority as the call goes out to sinners to repent. Among the things which sinners need to know is the doctrine of God, the doctrine of man, the doctrine of judgment, and the doctrine about our Lord Jesus Christ. There were specially equipped evangelists in the times of the apostles but the great commission calls all the Lord's people to involvement in the work. Do we care about souls? Do we think about their destiny? It is a work because there are opponents of the gospel and discouragements along the way. Our calling is to fulfil the work.
