Who Is Blessed?

The Psalms belong to the section of the Bible known as wisdom literature. This psalm is not the first one written (that privilege fell to Moses in writing Psalm 90), but it is placed first in the series of psalms because it introduces the theme of the Book of Psalms. Here we have a description of the life of the righteous, and of the hidden source of strength and goodness that flows into all aspects of the godly man's blessed life. We also see the tragic end of those that reject wisdom, and the cursed vanity of life without God.
