Don't Be Silly

Last week we learned of what it means to receive from the Lord not only the gift of Himself, but all the other good gifts which He has given, and to sanctify their use through the Word and prayer. What Paul has delivered to Timothy are "things" that are good for them, and in putting those things before them, Timothy will be considered a faithful teacher. What Timothy is teaching the saints to do is discern what is silly and what is good, what is worthless and what is of value. Do you know, can you discern? Perhaps this Sunday we may learn better what is good and promotes holiness and hope in us.
