The Davidic Priesthood

In bringing up the ark of the covenant of the Lord, David took on the persona of a priest. He wore a priest's robe and ephod, set the priests in order and offered sacrifices. His figure looked toward the promised Messiah who would be a priest and king in one person as promised in Psalm 110. He combines the absolute power of a monarch with the compassion of a priest. So Christ rules over us but compassionately cares for us always and forever.
