This chapter forms an epilogue to chapters 18 & 19 and its purpose is to warn Judah of looking to the ungodly nations, especially Egypt, for deliverance.

  1. The Lord alone delivers. Alliances at the expense of faithfulness to God are always sinful.
  2. The Lord is the one for whom we should be willing to suffer shame v2-4.
  3. The Lord alone is worthy of complete confidence v5,6. The relevance of this passage today.
