A Little Leaven

The Apostle uses the analogy of leaven which permeates the whole substance into which it is put. Even so, false teaching can permeate the whole man, the whole congregation, the whole denomination and, eventually, the whole of society if it is not purged out. leavne is used to denote immorality in the Church as well as false teaching. In Matthew it is used with a good connation, namely, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a leaven that will leaven the whole world, the evil leaven being purged out and there will be a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
