Sàsachadh ann an Coslas Dhè
Series Psalms
Last week my sister Annie passed away. She had cerebral palsy and her life had become increasingly restricted. But she had a bright and living faith in Jesus. The Christian hope makes all the difference! Through all this I gave a lot of consideration to the place of the resurrection in the Lord's plan of salvation and was drawn to this verse in Psalm 17. David here contrasts himself to his enemies, harassed as he is by them. In verse 14 he summarizes their life as consisting in having their portion in this life and whose satisfaction does not go beyond the things of this world. Then David says, "But as for me..." His portion is in eternity and especially in seeing God's face and being satisfied with God's likeness when he awakes - ie in resurrection life, with new and incorruptible bodies suitable for the ultimate communion with God and satisfaction in his likeness.
