Caleb An Attitude of Altitude

83

As we look at Caleb’s life we can all learn some great things for our Christian journey.

As you read through the Books of Numbers and Joshua we can find several verses that show us the character of Caleb.

Now the first mention of Caleb in the Bible is in Numbers Chapter 13.6.

a. Caleb along with Joshua believed God’s Promises.

b. Caleb along with Joshua had seen God’s Provision, They had been set free from Egypt.

c. They knew God’s Presence.

d. They had witnessed God’s Power…God had opened the Red Sea and destroyed Pharaoh’s Army.

When Caleb looks back at his life and at the age of 85 he makes this statement found in Joshua 14.8.

Josh 14:8 NKJV ….I wholly followed the Lord my God.

What a great statement that is.

As this aged man of God surveyed his life he knew that he had given himself unreservedly to the living God.

AT 85 YRS OLD he was willing to fight his greatest battle to win that Mountain. He was fighting for an inheritance for his children and his children’s children.
The Mountain was Hebron 3000ft above sea level.
The choices Caleb made not only affected him but also his family for generations to come. His kids received a great inheritance.

Caleb was a man that when other people saw giants…. Caleb saw God.

Caleb was willing to battle for his kids even at an old age.

The fights that we fight now will affect the generations to come.

What kind of land will Australian kids inherit if we are not like Caleb and are prepared to take a stand?

Mums and dads Dad’s and granddads and grandmothers we are in a battle for the Spiritual inheritance of our children and our grandchildren.
