Dead Faith

Did you know that there is a belief in God, even a belief in the triune God, that doesn't result in salvation? We can even find people who hold on to a past profession of faith in Christ for salvation—yet the years following show little to no change in their life in seeking to obey God's commandments out of love. How do we cope with this reality in either ourselves or others?

In today's passage we come to the central point of the book: checking to see if your faith is genuine. It is impossible to show your faith by words alone—there ought to be works that come alongside.
