Stranger on the Road

17

In Luke 23 .13 we find two followers of Jesus walking away from Jerusalem on the first Easter Sunday to a place called Emmaus.

A STRANGER comes beside them who was the most important person in the world and they did not recognise Him.

His appearance was totally unexpected by them.

As they walked on that dusty road they had hearts that were burdened, Jesus, the one that they followed had been condemned to death and crucified, they had hoped that He would redeem Israel, but now he was gone.

It was a lonely road for them but it was a lovely road for Jesus.

This road, just a dusty road out of the main city was a special road to Jesus. Why? Because on this road were some special people, the followers of Jesus.

The followers of Jesus received a 7 mile Bible Study.

Luke 23.27 NKJV And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Jesus must have given these Emmaus travelers the greatest Old Testament sermon in history.

Jesus began with what Moses wrote and then went to the Prophets to share with them of Himself.
