A Good Heritage

Belshazzar asked Daniel: "Are you that Daniel who is one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the King brought from Judah?" (5:13). Whatever the exact sense of the King's question Daniel was "one of the exiles from Judah." His past was rooted in the Old Covenant culture of Judah and from it emerged a heritage of which Daniel was a steward. Parents, what kind of heritage are you, day by day, building? What kind of heritage will you bequeath to your children?
