Psalm 44:1-8
108
Examining Psalm 44:1-8, we find the opening confidence expressed by the psalmist. He believes that what God did for the fathers, God could do for this present generation. But this section of confidence is prepatory to the next section (verses 9-16) which is filled with how the God they are trusting is the God who is presently destroying them. These opening verses then are our example of confident faith even in a God who afflicts us.
