Operation from Within

Our greatest threat to national security today is domestic terrorism. Home grown, imbedded terrorists who have infiltrated our society, and who understand the advantages of working from the inside to bring about our defeat. Our spiritual adversary attempts to do the same, to set up operations on the inside of us to bring about our defeat. It is possible for us to 'give place to the devil' , that is, grant him a foothold in our lives from which to work. One of the chief ways is through suppressed anger. Now anger as a human emotion is neutral. There are times when we should be angry, such as when others are mistreated and abused, or when God's person or Word is maligned. But self-serving, vindictive anger is sinful and wrong. Anger that is suppressed, not handled properly, opens the door for our adversary to work. It leads to all kinds of problems including murder. So, it is important that we do not 'let the sun go down on our wrath' but deal with anger quickly. Don't allow it to build up or accumulate and then channel it towards a solution. In this way we can be angry, and not sin.
