The person of Haman

In this chapter we are introduced to a new character in the narrative. The king has installed Haman as the empire's new prime minister and it is he who is setting the policy. As such, Haman, or magnificent as his name means, is one of two persons we are looking at in our sermon today. Now we typically don't like to dwell on the bad guy of our stories, we just want the hero to beat them real good and save the day. But without the bad guy we have no understanding of makes the good guy good. We can say someone is good but without anything to compare them too how do we know? Throughout this chapter we are gonna get a good look at the person of Haman and who he represents and that is that other person, Satan. The one who is always on the look out to destroy God's people.
