The Believer's Request

322

There is much false teaching today concerning this verse: Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy spirit from me.

David pleads for God to hide His face from his sins, while not rejecting him. David was aware of the absence of the conscious presence of God in his life, and so he petitions God to draw nigh to him again. There are sad consequences and sorrow because of sin.

This verse is not teaching that one can lose his salvation, or be lost once he is saved.
